What's on my pod, what's in my ear...

What are YOU knee deep in???

Someone called me the other day and asked what I was up to.  That’s a loaded question.

“Well, “  said I while harvesting in the garden after drenching rains and then sudden, muggy sunshine,

“I’m knee deep in tomatoes and okra right now.”  So there you have it.  What I am KNEE DEEP IN is the point of this blog.

I wasn’t sure how I wanted to kick off this new venture, (by the way, if you’re looking for a dream worker, click on 13 Pumpkins and give her a try!  She does great websites, blogs and helps small craftspeople like myself achieve a professional shop image without breaking the bank!  Thanks, Marr!)  but thoughts of digital fireworks, page view prizes and flash animations of my donkey doing the macarena were going through my thoughts.  As usual, I’ve got to rethink, restrategize and work with the dead line choosing work over entertainment so I’ll be breaking into the page about the Great Education Race (A.K.A. home education) with some product reviews I promised to The Old Schoolhouse Magazine.  I am in one of their new focus groups and will be doing reviews of some homeschooling products for them.  If you have any requests let me know.

BUT, (it’s at this point, Little Man, my gruff five year old, would say, “MOOOOM!! You said a bad word….can I say it now?”) let me tell you what to expect here.

  • Dirty dishes
  • Dirty laundry
  • Dirty diapers

oh, sorry, no that’s my To Do  list.

Umm, if you’ll direct your gaze to the top of this page, you’ll see a few of the shoes I wear when I am into my various piles.  Click on a shoe and you’ll immediately be directed to a collection of my posts regarding these topics.  I hope to have some DIY help for the farm (BarnYard Tea up there) and garden life (remember those mators and okra?), to have updates on the Etsy stores I am addicted to, home schooling experiences or helpfuls and product reviews,  education contests (yeah, we’re gonna see just how much of that new curriculum you bought this year is working for ya!) page comment prizes, and regarding Peter’s steps (look up to the top, see the footprints in the sand??? get it?  footprints in the sand???) I don’t have a plan for.  I am spiritually hoping  I can somehow serve God with that part of the blog or involving this blog, but its not in concrete and I am testing waters (putting out the lamb’s wool so to speak) and leaving that open.  I doubt the donkey doing the macarena would serve that purpose but hey, God seems to like involving donkeys in his plans…

I’m still in the construction phase here so no real belly jiggles, stunning photography or mind numbing philosophical posts, yet…but jest you wait…I’ll dig some up around here shortly…can’t help not to on a farm with 5 kids, 6 goats and a donkey who thinks she is a queen…
