What's on my pod, what's in my ear...

Houston- We have milk.

After coercing Nora Dean (our mama goat)

Nora Dean
Nora Dean

for days that
milking would really be such a lovely gift for all the fine branches Dear Botanist
and Ch cut for the goats, she finally hopped up onto the milking stand and
naively put her head in place for feeding while A and I fiddled around trying to milk her.  Ok, so she didn’t do
it without seeing food on the other side of the bars but she only kicked a few
times!  We were so excited and giggly
that we couldn’t squirt the milk into our cup but for 4 drops!  Oh,  what a joy those four drops
were!  We can’t wait for tomorrow to come
and we can go out and try again!  It isn’t
easy to milk not only a tiny teat, but a fish tail (bifurcated, two nipples…)
teat on each side of the udder.  Nora is
just a little pygmy scrub goat but she is such a good mama to her boys.  I’d have taken pictures but I wasn’t
prepared, it just came about.  I was
really just raking up goat “pebbles” and giving her clean hay when the one thought
led to the other!

OK, I’ll got back to dinner.
Just had to share.

Hey! I know this is kinda off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this site? I’m getting sick and tired of Wordpress because I’ve had issues with hackers and I’m looking at alternatives for another platform. I would be awesome if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.
